Any extra funds we raise will go towards expanding the inclusive reading spine and further supporting the enrichment of our children.
After a year of change and uncertainty, it is more important than ever that we support our children to make sense of their emotions, to understand the world they are growing up in and to be inspired by the futures which they have ahead of them. There is no more powerful medium than books to achieve this goal.
To guarantee our children have access to these books, the money raised from our marathon challenge will fund a new and inclusive reading spine to be shared across our school. Through key themes such as empathy, respect and equality, these books will allow our children to explore topical issues ranging from looking after their mental health to understanding issues with racism in the past and present.
Rest assured, the money raised will ensure that the children that need it most, get exactly the support they need to pick us all up from this unprecedented year and move us forward the only way they know how: with a spark of curiosity, a deluge of enthusiasm and a desire to challenge the status quo.
