I'm running the Northumberland Coastal Run in support of the Young Greens and our fantastic training programmes!
The Young Greens is the official youth and student branch of the Green Party of England and Wales. We organise, support, and train young Green activists across the country to make a concrete difference in their communities.
Using focused campaigns with clear methods and objectives, we have achieved so much already this year. In the local elections, we drew activists to 10 target wards across England. By offering support to candidates and guidance to new members, we helped elect Young Greens in 7 of our 10 targets. In the European Elections, our series of action days and phone banks helped elect Magid Magid as the UK's first Young Green MEP.
Now we're growing. And we're working harder and delivering more for our members. We are putting in place a plan to support more than 30 new Young Green chapters and university societies and help them thrive. We want to make our annual activist training scheme - 30 Under 30 - bigger, bolder and better than ever.
This is where you come in. We don't receive any funding from the Green Party and all our efforts are self-funded. We can no longer rely on old revenue streams: as Treasurer, I know how important it is to budget for the future. We work with amazing speakers and activists. We take no shortcuts in making our events accessible to all, regardless of background. All this costs time, effort, and money.
As Jonathan Bartley, Green Party Co-leader told Green Party Spring Conference: "Young people are not the leaders of tomorrow. They are the leaders of today."
Help us make our work sustainable for a new generation of Young Green activists!
