We’re all unique people with different backgrounds and life experiences – but there’s one thing that can bring people from all walks of life together: food!
Food is a wonderful way to learn about people and their cultures. Especially, food is often synonymous with a person’s cultural identity. When we think about different countries, traditions or religions food so often springs to mind. And when we reflect on time we spend with our friends and families, we often think about the meals we’ve shared or the experience of cooking together.
Inspired by this thinking, our diversity and inclusion champions have created this cookbook as a way to shine a spotlight on people from all corners of our business, so we can celebrate our diversity by representing the different backgrounds and communities that make up the people working at RSA. There are passed down family recipes, dishes inspired by travels abroad and classics alongside not-so classics that have been perfected over the years.
By learning about each other’s cultures through the recipes, we hope that this book will be an enlightening read for you. And we also hope it’ll provide some useful recipes that you’ll be inspired to try out!
Now more than ever though we can see that not everyone is in a position to put food on the table, which is why we're asking for a small donation in exchange for downloading this digital version of One Big Table.
All money raised from this book will go to the Trussell Trust, who work with a nationwide network of food banks to provide emergency food, give support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
