'Royal Hunter' is a fictional account of the day that Ellen Chivers met Prince Harry through the social dating app, Tinder. We follow her journey from Harry's initial 'swipe to the right' on her picture, to their first date in Pizza Express.
But what happens when it's time to meet the Grandparents? Will she be trampled by corgis? Will she mention the one thing that Harry has told her not to: the Great Fire at Windsor in 1992? Probably.
This one-woman theatre show was born through my genuine and irrational love of all things Royal. It is not a show that preaches; it will appeal to royalists and non-royalists alike. Primarily, it pokes fun at my own adoration of them, which I openly admit is bonkers, through comedic, hypothetical situations.
Showing for 6 nights at The Camden Fringe Festival this August, this is my first venture into writing, although I have been a professional actress and actor-musician for the past 7 years.
I am looking to part-fund this project through Crowdfunder. I have set a target of £800, but realistically I am extremely grateful for anything I recieve through this platform, whether I hit that target or not. Anyone even remotely interested or involved in theatre will know how hard it is financially to put anything onto its feet these days, especially as a new and unknown writer and without the backing of a big producer or Arts Council Funding.
The money raised will be used to help fund the hire of the theatre for 6 nights, props and costume.
This show is a labour of love for me. Aside from it furthering my own creative and professional development, I hope that it will provide joy, laughter, reflection and, primarily, a fun night's entertainment for all who come to watch it.
If this is something that interests you and something you would like to get behind, then I would be forever grateful for any help you can give me. Please be rest assured that I am working very hard to raise as much as possible through my own work and I hope to match/add to whatever amount I can raise through this site.
My heartfelt thanks to you all.
