Dorking turned out in force – and attracted many visitors from far and wide – for October’s Rob Walker Centenary Festival. A collection of historic racing cars associated with Rob Walker, who based his privateer racing team in Dorking, passed through the town centre.
The parade included some of the Formula One cars that brought the team nine Grand Prix victories in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as other classic cars associated with the great man.
Now Dorking Museum is giving you an opportunity to buy a superb souvenir of the occasion. The 32-page B5 booklet will contain full colour professional photos of the participating vehicles on the streets of Dorking, together with other images that capture the excitement of a unique day. This book is a companion to ‘The Rob Walker Racing Team’, copies of which are available via the museum web-site.
In order to secure the printing of this unique souvenir booklet, the company is asking for subscribers to order their copies online.
A £10 donation will secure you two copies, or £20 will buy you five copies.
