Roade Tennis Club needs your help!
We are raising money to help fund the resurfacing of our three courts and installation of floodlighting. The courts are in desperate need of resurfacing to provide a further 15 years of tennis activities for all, young and old, in a safe and welcoming environment where the community can continue to learn, play and have fun with tennis. The installation of floodlighting will enable a longer playing season and offer more opportunities for evening play.
Sport England have promised us 50% of the anticipated costs provided that we can raise the balance by the end of this year. We have also received a grant from South Northamptonshire Council, as well as other small grants, but we now need to raise the last few thousand to enable the project to go ahead!
Sport England are also backing us with match funding. Thus by raising £1,000 ourselves we would benefit by £2,000. Please give whatever you can, however big or small; your generous support can make a huge difference to our club and the local/wider community who use it.
Roade Tennis Club is based in the grounds of Roade Village Hall. The club provides a safe, friendly environment for all the community to play tennis as well as gain the benefit of skilled coaching, club sessions and competitive play, whether beginners, improvers or performance players. The club house has changing rooms as well as a kitchen, and the courts are situated directly in front of the club house, which has a picturesque backdrop of fields and trees, and free parking.
We have achieved Tennis Clubmark (LTA / Sport England kite mark) for the last 4 years.
The club runs sessions for all ages and abilities, from 2 years old through to 70yrs old. We currently have 3 teams in the local leagues and the club is keen to attract new members and offer more sessions promoting tennis as well as a healthy lifestyle.
"Please support this. This is a great local club with a fantastic head coach running it along with his wife. Two of the nicest people I know run this club who have supported me through not only tennis but in life as well. This is a great opportunity for the club and I hope the funds can be raised.” Oli M
Just wanted to say as a parent and league player how impressed I am with the set up at Roade. Really friendly village club offering such a good standard in the leagues. Both our children George and Amy have also enjoyed your coaching skills (Amy especially enjoyed volunteering in the summer coaching programme and gaining leadership skills which I am sure will stand her in good stead). Keep up the good work! Mark P
