Rio - Liverpool Bridge

A Brazilian musician is trying to raise enough funds to take his band to represent Brazil at the International Beatleweek festival 2017.

Unfortunately, this project was not successful

Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Gui Lopes, has been invited for the second time to attend one of the biggest music festivals in the world, the International Bestleweek in Liverpool, England. This year's festival celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Cavern Club - venue that launched The Beatles and has been stage for many music idols such as Queen, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, etc. - and will have great repercussion in Europe, uniting 70 bands from 20 different countries to play on stages like the Cavern Club and many others around the city. After last year's invite to the festival, the artist has conquered many important career steps like appearing on national television, newspaper articles and soon after, he signed a contract with the publisher Warner Chapell. This gives him the opportunity to promote his cultural baggage in songwriting in Portuguese and English.

What we need

In order to complete a small tour after the festival, our team got permission from the Cavern Club to stay a few weeks in the country after the event, to do shows in cities like Manchester and London.

We need round-trip tickets for a group of 4 members, as well as values for lodging, food and transportation. The amount we would need to make this happen for the band would be around 5.000 pounds. We welcome any type of support. Whether it be $5 or airfare tickets. The band is very talented, each member is from a different region of Brazil and we would love to show the world the band's true potential in John Lennon's hometown, in a festival in his honor.
