We have a beautiful and historic church in the middle of Aldenham village in Hertfordshire. It dates back to 13th century The window next to our south porch is badly in need of repair. Some of the lead work and surrounding stonework has deteriorated so badly that it lets the rain in - and this is in the area next to our children's play corner which might mean we would have to seal it off.
Specialist repairers are needed to fix it - and it will be at least £9,000 for the window plus plaster and painting repair. We have the authorisation to carry our the work which will take some months. We now "just" need to finds the funds to pay for it!
Our Church is a much loved part of the community - and appreciated by the many visitors who now come to the village for their lockdown walks. We need to preserve it for future generations to have as part of their lives; for worship, reflection and admiration.
