On 28th February 2018 we successfully raised £70 with 2 supporters in 56 days

What an opportunity to create something amazing and life changing not just for our family but for the village this estate stands in and for the history books! We inherited this wonderful estate over a year ago from a dearly loved great uncle.

Priory Estate dates back to the early 16th century - the records we which have uncovered provide some wonderful heritage information. The estate comprises of  a farmhouse with a huge four stack chimney which has seen some additions to the size of the house over the years. It is a grand house with amazing views of the countryside but has sadly fallen in to a state of decay - we currently have a spring running through what would be our sitting room (not the feature we were thinking of!).  Alongside the farmhouse is a long tithe barn dating to the early 18th century with a history of lacemaking in its early life. Both the farmhouse and the barn look out over the most wonderful view of a large viaduct and the countryside at its finest. There are numerous derelict stables and outbuildings around both sites.

We are currently working with the local planning and conservation team to develop the whole site into something very special for the whole community. Our dream is to live in the farmhouse which has been in the family for over 60 years.

We have spent our life savings to date seeking the help of specialists to determine the future of the estate and the well has run dry. We are so close to the big tick needed by the planning and conservation teams to allow us to progress. Due to the age of the buildings we have required specialist help in determining the state of the timbers, walls, ground soil for example; all time consuming as well as costly. We still have architect fees to pay, structural engineer fees, ground preparing examinations, ecological surveys - the list is long.

We are committed to seeing this project come to fruition and while many would walk away from a project this size we remain excited and determined that we will be the ones to do this! We feel a duty to create something that our family, past, present and future, will be proud of.

It is such an amazing opportunity please help us.
