Unfortunately this project was not successful.

I wish to put my skills to use by becoming a self employed non-profit photographer for small charity organisations.

by Benjamin in Woolston, England, United Kingdom

I spent some years in prison, during my time in prison I spent time with the mental health team and alcohol misuse teams, I looked at the reasons for my offending behaviour and worked hard to address those issues, I am now 6 years sober and left prison a completely different person.

Before I was sentenced I had several years of experience in the IT industry, that knowledge I used to teach inmates how to use Microsoft Office in the prison college, this gained me a lot of respect from the officers and inmates alike, I was determined to be a different person upon my release.

I was released from prison homeless and I currently stay in a specialist hostel for the homeless. I have very few funds and finding it extremely difficult to find employment with a criminal record. I would like to use my photography and computing skills to provide a voluntary service for small charity organisations, it is my hope that my volunteering will lead to paid employment either by the charity themselves or by a company recognising my skills.

I would use the money raised by this crowdfunding project to buy used camera and IT equipment so that I can help these small charities, my own equipment is dreadfully outdated and will not produce the results that are needed.
