The Missing Tents
Dash Arts has been a part of Latitude Festival for 5 years, and it is one of our favourite things on the calendar. This year, we spent the weekend building, performing, dancing and living in an idealistic commune – our #EuroSquat – with participation from Festival goers. Sadly, after disassembling the Squat on Monday morning, we returned to the performers camp to find our utopian dreams cruelly ripped from us with the disappearance of 19 @DASHARTS tents and associated camping gear.
Each summer, we take around 30 - 40 actors, musicians and artists to perform and host our installation/performance spaces at the Festival. A number of this extended Dash Arts family join us as volunteers and the camping provisions we have accrued over the last five years enable us to support them: tents, air mattresses, an electric pump and mallet. The loss of this equipment is a blow to our small charity.
We would be hugely grateful if you could contribute to our campaign to restock our supplies so that we can return to Latitude next year and re-build our community of artists and participants!
Why Support Us?
After Latitude, our #EuroSquat will be at Rich Mix London on the Open House weekend 22-23 September 2018. To thank you for your help with replacing our tents, we would love to involve you in our next Squat. We’ve designed a number of rewards for you to make your mark.
Installation, debating chamber and performance venue; the Dash Euro-Squat invites you into a provocative and compellingly essential vision of Europe. Impromptu music gigs, theatre, art-actions, and late night DJ sets await alongside a warm welcome and endless drinks and snacks. With the support of Tower Hamlets Council and in partnership with our friends at Rich Mix London, this full weekend programme will have something for the whole family.
Even if you are not able to donate cash, you can still help us by spreading the word about this campaign, or get in touch with us with any other ideas
