So yesterday, Disaster happened. I was out exploring the forests in north wales, and my camera strap came undone, dropping my camera 3 foot onto hard concrete. At first the damage didnt look so bad, part of the camera case had cracked and come off. But sadly it's also damaged internally. the memory card was jammed in, shutter button sticks and the camera now wont focus on anything no matter what lens is used.
The worst part is, my insurance wont cover it, and as i'm currently out of work having just finished my teacher training and now looking for a teaching job, finances are tight.
Photography is my life. i have spent the last 10 years refining my skills, learning all i can, and giving my time and experience away for free on countless photoshoots so i can learn more about my craft.
I love photography so much, i've just completed a post graduate course in teaching so i can actually share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of photographers.
Over the summer i had some big plans for photoshoots, with makeup artists, models and designers who i have now got to bear the bad news to that i cant collaborate with them. This also means i cant do any commissioned or paid work too as sadly the camera that was damaged is my only camera.
I am not the kind of person to beg or borrow, those who know me know i do so much for others from doing free photoshoots to supporting local businesses in any way i can. But unfortunatly this seems like the only option, the only way i can earn money to replace the camera is with photography, but i need a camera to do that!
So how can you help? I'm not asking for money for nothing in return, But what i am asking for is to support me in other ways. so for every amount donated you will get something back, From a £1 for a digital postcard, to £100 for a awesome photoshoot. Every £1 will help me get back to what i love doing the most, and keep on creating photography for you all to see.
So, can you help me out?
