He did so much for the youth of Derby, never saying no to any of them! A person so deserving of this award. His happy face, his chuckle, and how he helped the area should always be remembered. RIP Reg.

A true local legend. Had the respect of everyone, I learned massively under him in both football and life skills. Hard and fair preparing us for everything and introduced us to the legendary Adidas Samba trainers which we still wear today. Thank you Reg

After leaving Derby County, Reg was a big part of Boston United’s best ever FA Cup run, including a 6-1 win at the Baseball Ground. As a Boston United supporter, I look forward to being able to visit this memorial and pay my respects to Reg

What Reg started all those years ago, with the youngsters, is as important now as it’s ever been. It’s a lovely idea to have the bust put up.

I’ll never forget Reg bringing his FA Cup medal to Alvaston Junior School in about 1981. As members of that first Field Lane team we had great success on the pitch but more importantly we were taught to be humble and respectful young men. Reg was an inspiration to us as young footballers and meant so much to so many people. RIP.
