Parking charges at NHS hospitals was abolished in 2008, except for PFI (private finance initiative) hospitals like Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where private companies run the car parks and keep the money from them.
NHS staff are being urged not to use public transport, so they are having to drive in (potentially while paying for a train season ticket, and then temporary car insurance if they borrow a car as well.) The last thing they should need to worry about paying is parking charges when they’re at work to save us.
I have started this crowd finder as I am eternally grateful for our NHS hero’s dedication to protecting their fellow people. I want the money raised to go to all the staff working at PFI hospitals to reimburse them for they’re parking charges, so they are not stressed financially as well as by their work.
Please donate what you can, and Do what you can to help, like all the NHS staff have done without blinking an eyelid during this pandemic.
