We provide a pet fostering service so that victims of domestic violence and abuse can escape to access safety and support before being reunited with their much loved pets. As a small charity COVID-19 has hit us hard financially. We stand to lose over £30,000 due to cancelled fundraising events and reduced funding opportunities this year. This money helps us to pay for everything animals need while in foster care.
We are preparing for a big increase in demand for our service as a result of COVID-19 in the coming weeks and months. For victims/survivors of domestic violence and abuse home is far from a safe place. COVID-19 has led to a rise in domestic violence and abuse reports across the UK and globally. Tragically since the lockdown in the UK there has been a large increase in adult victims, their children and animals being murdered by a partner. COVID-19 is not causing domestic violence and abuse. But, lockdown is escalating the risk to many victims/survivors of domestic violence and abuse who are now even more isolated than before.
If you could spare a little and share a lot we would be so grateful.
