The introduction of a training centre could develop a smarter, more experienced workforce boosting Glasgow's economy.

by Connor McMenemy on behalf of United Business Development in Glasgow, City of Glasgow, Scotland

In our research, we have found that Glasgow's. despite having the highest level of youths qualified to degree level (at 30.3%) has one of the UK's highest levels of youth unemployment (16.6%) economically inactive youths (38.1%) and the lowest percentage of youths employed (51.7%). Many students express difficulty in finding a job once graduating since the volume of youths attending university has increased in recent years, meaning that possession of a university degree does no hold as much weight as it used to. since employers are flooded with more applicants with the same level of qualification, they no longer use the possession of a university degree as a deciding factor.
