Charles T. Griffes is one of the influential members of American musical history, but rarely do many musicians in today's age recognise or even know who he is.
In partnership with the Song in the City Charity Trust, a group of Guildhall students have taken up the task to reacquaint today's musicians with this prolific composer. Over the course of the next few months they will be unearthing and recording the entirety of his art song repertoire, culminating in recitals (London and New York) to commemorate the one-hundred-year anniversary of his death.
In order to acheive this goal, the group is raising funds that will be used to make professional recordings and to host their work in the US and the UK.
Please consider joining these musicians as they embark on this incredible journey to revive the works of this composer, and to put Charles Griffes in his rightful place next to the other American greats.
