Charles T. Griffes is one of the influential members of American musical history, but rarely do many musicians in today's age recognise or even know who he is.
In partnership with Song in the City Charity Trust, a group of Guildhall students have decided to take up the task to reacquaint today's musician with this prolific composer. Over the course of the next six months they will be unearthing and recording all of his art song repertoire, and putting on a recital in April to commemorate the one-hundred-year anniversary of his death.
In order to acheive this goal, they will be hosting a benefit recital to raise funds for this project, funds that will be used to make professional recordings and to host their work not only in London, but in the US as well.
Please consider joining these musicians as they embark on this incredible journey to revive the works of this composer, and to put him in his rightful place next to the other American greats.
