We are a small team of volunteers, 11 at present, some of whom have been to Nepal on two previous occasions to help in the rebuilding programme, following the devastating 2015 earthquake, we shall be travelling to the Jugal Primary School in early April this year.
Many areas of this amazing country are still undergoing reconstruction, this has left some remote areas without many essential services, most worryingly, schools, leaving many villages no access to safe weatherproof classrooms. The Jugal school in Golche has begun to receive some funding to start reconstruction, but is still in need of further money and resources to enable meaningful and valuable building work, rebuilding at least one weatherproof classroom and hopefully one useable toilet block for the primary school children.
We are trying to raise enough funds to buy and transport building materials to the village of Golche, approximately 100kms north of Kathmandu in the Sindhupalchwok district. Where we can physically build a new classroom for the children of the Jugal Primary School to get back to learning in a safe and weatherproof building.
If time allows and we have managed to acquire enough building materials, we also hope to build a toilet block for the children.
There are currently 97 pupils and 4 teachers, some pupils walk for 1 hour to get to school, education can have a massive positive impact on the futures of Nepalese children.
Please help us provide, at the very least some simple basic facilities for these children, facilities that in the UK we just expect for our primary school children, thank you!
