Speaking up for Midlothian
When elected in 2015, Owen Thompson promised to be a hard-working MP focusing on local issues, and to serve and represent everyone in the constituency. Parliamentary records show just how often he has spoken up for Midlothian. Since his election, Owen and his staff have dealt with over 3,000 individual cases, sent over 5,000 emails on behalf of constituents and held over 140 advice surgeries.
Speaking up for Scotland
Scotland needs a strong voice at Westminster as never before. With Labour in disarray, the Tories need effective opposition and voters need MPs they can trust. Sending Owen and a strong block of SNP MPs to Westminster allows Scotland's voice to be heard on many fronts.
Holding the Tories to account
Owen and his SNP MP colleagues are the ones holding the government to account each week in parliament and committees, challenging them at every turn and defending Scotland’s interests. Increased austerity, flawed immigration policy and women's pensions. These are just some of the headline issues that Owen has tackled head on.
What do we need to win?
After the recent Council elections, funds are somewhat depleted and we need financial support to get our message to the voters. With your help we can pay for campaign materials to make sure our goals of hope and aspirations for Midlothian are communicated to all.
How can you help? You can help with a donation to reach our £1,000 target so that, we not only hold this seat for the SNP, we can aim to increase the vote. You can trust that each and every donation you can afford, large or small, will help re-elect Owen Thompson as our MP – a proven strong and effective voice for Midlothian.
However we know that not everyone is in a position to contribute so we would ask that you get involved in whichever you can. We will be out campaigning every week and weekend, canvassing, leafletting, holding street stalls and phoning constituents. If you would like to help, or see how your donation has assisted in our campaign, please get in touch:
*If you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to Owen's campaign, your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure that you are eligible to donate. Your name, but not your address, will be made available by the council on request after the elections.*
