I am standing for re-election as the SNP Member of Parliament for Edinburgh South West.
My campaign needs money to help me reach out to voters. Small donations of whatever you can afford to give will help me get my message out.
I also need volunteers; to help deliver leaflets, canvass, staff street stalls and much more - if you can help please email firstname.lastname@example.org
I need your help to fight against an increasingly hard-line Tory Government looking to secure an increased majority.
Calling this election is one of the most extraordinary U-turns in recent political history, and it shows that Theresa May is once again putting the narrow interests of her own party ahead of the interests of Scotland and the UK.
From my work with constituents whose lives and health are being wrecked by Tory austerity I know first-hand how important it is that we protect vulnerable people in our society. On Brexit, the effect of the Tories plans to crash out of the single market are already being felt by businesses and the universities in the constituency.
This is an election about the Conservative party’s shambolic approach towards Brexit; their broken promises on national insurance in a budget where they attempted a cynical tax grab from the self-employed; tax credit cuts for low-income families, inhumane benefit sanctions, taking mobility cars from the disabled and the immoral rape clause.
In my role on the Brexit Select Committee, I hold the Government to account over its disastrous handling of Brexit. The Prime Minister knows that as the terms of her hard Brexit become clear, people in Scotland, who voted overwhelmingly to remain part of the EU, will become increasingly disillusioned with the UK Government. The Prime Minister wants to act now to crush parliamentary opposition and scrutiny of her plans.
The SNP is committed to standing up for Scotland and will continue to be the only real and effective opposition to the Tories. A vote for the SNP is a vote to protect Scotland’s interests.
