First of all, Ramadan Mubarak! The blessed month has finally arrived, and we should all be grateful for having yet another opportunity to be welcoming Ramadan.
As you may all be aware of already, most of Ramadan falls during term time where many of us will be living away from home. That means trying to scavenge for iftar whilst revising for the exams that are coming up! So, this year Keele ISOC would like to cater to our community in what is a rewarding but challenging time, in particular with exam season coinciding with Ramadhan, in order to achieve this we require the help of the community at large.
However, we don’t have enough funding to provide food for students for a prolonged period, therefore we wanted to create a crowdfunding page to try and raise as much as we possibly can.
As students we know the year can at times be financially difficult, no brother or sister should have to struggle during Ramadhan so we request that you help us in sharing the responsibility out amongst us by donating generously. If you are unable to financially support the cause, please consider forwarding this link on your social media accounts and or with your families. If anything, please remember us and everyone in your duas as we attempt to serve the ummah of the Prophet (SAW).
From the donations that we receive, we will try to use that to serve as many iftars as it will permit us to. Please try to donate generously as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives iftaar to a fasting person will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi
There’s not long left to go for Ramadan so please send the link around and encourage your friends and family members to donate too!
Types of food we would buy with donations:
