When I trained as a Blacksmith in the Army it was time where I had total clarity in my mind and I was totally focused. Unfortunately the trade was stopped and due to personal injury I had to go and do another trade. Since leaving the Army in 2008 I have worked in a totally different industry but I have always felt that a part of me was missing. I know in a unique position where I can fulfil my dream to set up my Blacksmith shop without financial burden. I have already started work on my workshop buying some tools and equipment.
My vision now is to build my own workshop and fit it out with the necessary tools and equipment. I want the Workshop to be an integral part of of the community helping those that have or are suffering from mental health issues such as PTSD, depression or to help young people that are studying art and design. I want to be able to sell experience days to people who have never done blacksmithing but would like a go.
