Kyle Beere was 12 when he suffered an unexpected brain injury which has left him severely disabled in a wheelchair and needing 24 hour care. He spent 9 months in Surrey having rehabilitation as there were no facilities near his home in Wales.
Kyle Beere Trust is a trust that runs along side and supports the newly registered charity Kyle's Goal, both set up with the aim to build a rehabilitation centre in Cardiff for children and young adults with neurological conditions.
We are currently looking to host smaller fundraisers in order to raise awareness of what we are trying to achieve. Due to the scale of our project we envisage that most of our funding for the build of the rehabilitation centre will be achieved through grant funding bids. In the mean time we are very fortunate to have lovely volunteers to help us arrange and run our events. We beileve that it is only fair that these volunteers should not be out of pocket for giving up their limited time to help us with any fundraising events/ organisational work that we do.
We are looking to fundraise £1,000 for our trust so that we can reimburse the volunteers with lunch costs and travel expenses (excluding private car). We have estimated that £1,000 will be sufficient to provide us with 12 months of volunteers expenses. Without our volunteers, many of which that have given up work commitments to help us out, none of this would be possible.
