In January, Dafydd was discovered seriously injured on a verge having been hit by a car.
The resultant head trauma and lung damage required an extensive list of costs to keep him alive; hospitalisation, painkillers, oxygen therapy, blood tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, consultations, revisits. The vets and nurses have done an incredible job keeping him alive and I am delighted he's rapidly returning to his rambunctious, yappy self.
The multiple surgeries and excellent care is coming at a cost. Jess and I are currently looking down the barrel of medical fees totalling over four thousand pounds. Unfortunately, it's wiped our puny savings and the rest is on credit cards.
We have been astonished and humbled at your response to our emergency fundraiser. The kindness friends and cat lovers have shown and messaged with has been shocking, in the best possible way.
We are hoping to dodge monthly interest payments and continue to chip away at the ole' medical bills on the credit card. To help, I am running the Hackney Half Marathon on behalf of Dafydd and will go all out to complete it in under eighty-five minutes. Any financial contribution to that would be hugely appreciated. Following the previous, unprecedented response, anything donated which goes above paying off medical bills will go to the Hackney Winter Night Shelter.
