My name is Ehsun and I'm one of the Co-Founders of Rafflrs. My business partner Michel is the other and final Co-Founder.
It all started when me and my future Co-Founder Michel joined an intensive 2 month coding bootcamp to become full stack web developers. We had both never met before but straight away we could see we both had the same vision. We both believed we could use our newly found web development skills to start our own successful business and create something exciting and new.
In the final 2 weeks of the coding bootcamp, we were tasked to brainstorm and create a web app that we believed could potentially become a success in the near future and present this idea to tech industry experts on Google campus. The idea came about when we thought how exciting it would have been if someone was able to win the chance to enter the coding bootcamp for simply £1 via a raffle, instead of the £6000 cost that was required. This then got the ball rolling and was when the initial vision of an online raffle platform began.
We set about creating a simple version of Rafflrs in the 2 week time-frame we had been given. Once created, we presented the website and idea to hundreds of tech industry experts on Google campus. We were taken aback by all the positive reviews and were told by many of these experts to take this idea forward as it was something very unique and new.
Therefore, we decided to go ahead and hire lawyers specialising in the gaming industry and set about building a business model that was fully legal and compliant. Once this was complete, we were able to create a very strong brand and highly-developed platform.
Rafflrs is now known as an exciting yet easy-to-use platform for participating in raffles online. It gives users the opportunity to win their dream prize for as little as £1, with prizes ranging across a wide variety of different luxury products.
But we're not looking to stop there; we've got the idea of turning our site into a marketplace in which reputable companies/brands will be able to host their own raffles directly on our website. A bit like eBay, but the product receiver would be decided through a raffle draw instead of the biggest bid.
Lastly, we strongly believe all successful businesses should always try and give back to society in any sort of way, therefore, our goal is to make charity work at the heart of what we do. We'll be working with numerous charities in the near future and donating 10% of each ticket to the amazing charities our users decide to sponsor.
We believe with Rafflrs, you have the chance to win both for yourself and the causes you care about.
In a fast-growing industry, we at Rafflrs firmly believe we have found the recipe for success.
We're now seeking seeds/investment to make it happen sooner.
