Unfortunately this project was not successful.

We are raising funds to improve our studio equipment to bring us up to modern standards and to get our service online.

Radio Wishing Well has been broadcasting to the patients at Trafford General Hospital since 1982.

Our studio equipment has not been renewed for 20 years, is starting to have faults and does not match up to modern standards, but we still try to do a great job.

As patients generally spend less time in hospital these days, we are intending to create an online local community service. Our core interest would remain with the hospital, its patients and staff, but would also be of interest to the Trafford area, with local news and events. Raising the profile of other local charities, community groups and health + wellbeing.

Our aim is to help improve and sustain the health of the people in our area, advising on health matters, how to stay fit and healthy, signs to look out for, where to seek advice and help before having to attend doctors or hospital.

Within the health service, it is acknowledged that music can help with patient morale. There are people who may not see loved ones who are unable to visit, but our team of ward visitors can help cheer the patients, and a mention on air, and a favourite piece of music can help boost spirits. Also, by going online, we can create a link with family and friends who may live further afield.
