Please help us save more animals lives

by Shena Louise in South Killingholme, England, United Kingdom

My name is Shena, and I've been rescuing animals all of my life. Five and a half years ago I set up Pudz Animal Sanctuary after rescuing a dog called Jerry who was paralysed. Nobody wanted Jerry, he dragged his legs and was doubly incontinent. I saw through that and knew Jerry had a fighting spirit, I raised the money for his operations and bought him some wheels, and now he is loved, happy, healthy, and full of life. I look after many special needs animals to give them a chance no one else would, and we have grown from 36 animals to 136. I have spayed and neutered hundreds of animals and taken in many animals who would otherwise have been put to sleep. I have also taken in wildlife and hand reared, rehabilitated and released. To say this has taken over my life is an understatement. My home and garden has been overtaken by animals in need and although I hate turning animals in need away, we need more space to carry on this vital work. I want to buy some Iand to not only make the lives of the animals presently in our care better but to enable us to help more. Nothing is more heart breaking than turning animals in need away. We plan to build a cattery so we can rescue more cats, which are by far the most abandoned animals. I need help raising money to move the animals, to get predator proof fencing, runs and our new cattery. Every year we put on around 15 charity events and have helped dozens of charities and individuals help more animals, now we need help. This area is crying out for a sanctuary which helps both domestic animals and wildlife, we have very few places that do this. We also hope to offer educational visits for school children, and open days where people can meet the animals. Animals rely on us to keep them safe, help us to help them. Thank you.
