Provide opportunities for ethic minorities

Unfortunately this project was not successful.

It is reported that ethnic minorities are less likely to be hired for work in the UK, it is a shame that this is still occurring in our modern-day society although there are laws to avoid such discrimination. The problem does not always stem from systematic discrimination from employers but also due to the fact that ethnic minorities have less skills and qualifications which sometimes puts them at a disadvantage.

What we will do about it

We are planning to start local workshops in two locations in London where ethnic minorities can attend free of charge to gain extra skills from life skills such as communication and interview skills to actual help with any current academic studies in which they are attending. We hope that this extra help will boost their skill sets and prepare them for future employers and give them a better chance of employment or even starting up their own businesses. The facility will give individuals one-to-one tutoring as well as extra time dedicated to helping them with any assignments or other academic work. This should set them on the journey to success.

The Money

We would like to aim to raise £20,000, this will pay for the facilities which will be rented out over the course of the year, the money will also help pay for equipment such as computers that they will use at the facility. The money will also help to pay tutors who are specialised in key skills who are also bilingual, we have already contacted a few and they have agreed to work with us at a very discounted rate so it’s now down to the public to help us reach this amazing goal and help our minorities be successful.

Got an idea like this?

Over £100 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
