I am a parent of three, and the story I am about to tell will probably have happened to you at some point in your parenting life...
During the summer, me and my family were at a summer fair in my local village, all was well, all was fun, happy and filled with laughter, until... My 4 year old daughter went missing.
Don't worry, we found her in the end, luckily. We took our eyes of her for a split second and she was gone, out of sight and it was by far the worst thing that has happened to me and would never wish that feeling on any other parent.
I got home that night, and googled and googled something that would prevent this from happening. Resulting in tags for bags with gps to phone, or gps watches again, to phone... But I personally don't see this as something that solves the immediate problem. The child could be to far gone and the gps watch or tag could have been took away if the worst case scenario was to happen, a kidnapping.
I have thought of a innovative idea that the family could all wear called the 'FamBand' which would truly stop this from ever happening. I don't know how far I could go with the describe the idea on this website without a NDA being signed, but am willing to explain I further to anyone who would be willing to invest. After some market research, and advice from companies such as the Princes trust, I have been pushed towards crowdfunding to get a prototype made to gain further funding to get the idea out there, and to truly keep your young ones safe.
I, and many others believe that situations like the Jamie Bulger murder, god rest his soul, would never have happened if he was to have been wearing a FamBand.
The funds would help me drastically as I am literally a father of three working a full time job, looking for the opportunity and backing to push on with this idea for the safety of not just my children, but everyone's children.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in donating, and I can go into detail with my idea once a NDA is signed.
