Churchill Gardens in Pimlico, London, is the largest housing estate completed under the post-war Plan for London. 1600 properties provide homes for thousands of people. The area is listed, and a designated a conservation area for its unique architectural heritage.
Westminster City Council is planning to demolish Darwin House, the Balmoral Castle pub, and the garages on the estate, and replace them with two 7-storey buildings.
Westminster City Council has used the pandemic as an excuse not to have a proper consultation with residents. We want them to listen to residents and think again.
We strongly support the council’s plans to give Darwin House residents better homes, but we don’t need more unaffordable housing at the expense of local residents.
Help Protect Churchill Gardens by donating towards our campaign costs, including printing 1000s of leaflets highlighting the issue to local residents.
