the Armistice spirit was on us
Thank you for your interest, taking the time to explore our project and our plans for a unique replica, for helping us tell the forgotten story of the Airships over Wales.
There was only one occasion when an Airship was flown under a bridge, that happened a century ago in North Wales. To commemorate the centenary of this remarkable early aviation feat Project Zero has commissioned a digital recreation of the airship flying under the Menai bridge, released on the centenary of the armistice flight and available to view exclusively from this update.
This little-known flight is recorded by a single grainy photograph that appeared in the local press the next day, a century later Project Zero has recreated this moment with 3d animated computer models and digital interpretation.
To commemorate the centenary of this event the link is available from November 14th at 16.05 hours (the time they took off on the hour-long flight)
THE 'ARMISTICE SPIRIT' VIDEO IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW FROM HERE
The short video, using the latest Unity game engine technology was gifted to the project by Vivid VR Ltd. They used the original photograph, archive photos and drawings researched from the Colfein website, hosted by the RCAHMW to create a digital scale model of the bridge and the video of the airship in flight. The digital Zero model was built and textured by a project volunteer Peter Paterson.
