Project Smile is a project specifically created to make a safer and healthy environment for all aspects of life. City Knights Football Club caters to providing a fun, safe and healthy atmosphere to all players regardless of race, sex, gender, disability or ability. Sheffield Works Department Social Club has been the home of City Knights Football Club for 6+ years and unfortunately the Goals have deteriorated and become very unsafe. The aim of this project is so that we can purchase new goal frames which have a life expectancy of up to 15 years and will enable us to continue to provide a safe, fun and healthy environment for all. City Knights Football Club is a brilliant atmosphere but most importantly....it is a family which showcases its values. City Knights Football Club offers a safe haven for all aspects of life including - Mental Health Disability Race Gender Mainstream These include Aspergers, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Learning difficulties, Mental Health, LGBT+ and many many more. City Knights Football Club are one of few little Disability Football Clubs in Sheffield and currently have players from 12 different postcode areas in Sheffield and some players from Doncaster and Dronfield. With zero help from any local professional clubs everything is done from scratch and we are reaching out to the community to help us to be able to continue offering a safe haven and fun environment for all. City Knights Football Club's slogan is Where Ability Counts....providing an all inclusive and diverse environment. Every coach and member at this club operate on a voluntary basis and this is simply because we all love what we do. To put a smile on even one individuals face makes it all worth it. We are in desperate need of funds to be able to replace the goals which are falling apart and becoming unsafe and dangerous. What we have to consider is that the majority of the players and participants at City Knights Football Club suffer with Anxiety, Depression and Learning difficulties which in a daily life situation can be frightening and a lot of our players can feel nervous to be in what we consider a normal environment. Again....we provide our players and participants and environment where they can come and be themselves and be around a team of individuals who have their best interests at heart. This creates community cohesion in some of the really poor areas of Sheffield where activities for registered disabled individuals and users have nothing available to them which decreases morale, health & wellbeing and confidence. City Knights Football Club encourages these aspects of life and help players and individuals to a better and healthier lifestyle. Micky Allen (Chairman)
