PROJECT REHOBOTH 2.0

BACKGROUND:

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Rehoboth House Nottingham Parish is a youth dominant church, located at the heart of the students’ area; in between the two Universities in Nottingham (University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University).

As a result of our strategic location a bulk of our community impact project has been aimed at improving the living experience of students whilst in school, prominent amongst these projects is the annual international welcome week, where we provide the necessary support for international students to enable them settle in, including temporary accommodation, city tour, etc. As a result, our testimonials are filled with heart-warming comments of beneficiary students who often refer to us as a family away from home.

In December 2017, we received an eviction notice to vacate our then venue within two weeks, we were faced with the unfortunate possibility of shutting down. Thanks to God, we got a new place in time which is our current venue. After one year of operation at this new venue, we are once again facing the possibility of a shutdown, following a 3 month eviction notice (by end of April 2019) by the Nottingham city council on the grounds of persistent noise complaint, otherwise install a suitable acoustic ceiling which has been quoted to the tune of £70,000.

As a church, we have resolved to gather every available resource to get a permanent building for our operations as this is a more viable and cheaper option in the long run, than expend any more on this rented venue, especially when the money required to fix the acoustic issue is enough deposit to get us a mortgage for a viable property.

To this end, we require your assistance towards raising the required amount for the next phase of Project Rehoboth.

We sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and thank you in anticipation for your assistance/donation towards this great work. God bless you richly. Amen.
