Starting a new Community Rugby League venture whilst in lock-down was probably what we didn't envisage! However, through determination, resilience and a good bit of IT training on Zoom, we finally got there and the Burtonwood Chargers Community Amateur Rugby League Club is now up and running. Based from Burtonwood Catholic Club, the team now has some 35 players registered, who are already working hard at our Social Distance winter training.
We want to be an inclusive Club and offer players from 18 years old upwards the chance to train and play the wonderful game of Rugby League. Through our new unique Membership scheme, we offer Membership to Players and Supporters alike, who will be part of our "family" in driving the club forward. We aim to work closely with local Charities and offer a network of support with regards to Men's Health and Well-Being.
Any funds that we raise will help towards equipment, winter training costs and the general "start up" of the Club. Times are really tough and challenging for the Nation, but we want to stay positive and prove that something good can be achieved through the dedication of togetherness.
Thank you for reading our story and we hope everybody keeps safe.
