The Ebola Epidemic in Sierra Leone
The Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone two years ago killed tens of thousands of people. One of the areas worst hit was in the Port Loko District in Northern Sierra Leone, Kigbal Village. The BBC made a documentary of Kigbal Village (see - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-30332956).

The Ebola Orphans
The Ebola epidemic left hundreds of orphans, many of school going age. However, there were no schools in the village.

Hawa Trust, a registered community interest company, started constructing a school for the Ebola orphans. The village provided land, and we have started constructing a school made with mud. We also provided lunch, basic furniture, stipend for the teachers, and a few benches.
We have also started a basic primary school in Maketeh Village, Gbendembu, Bombali District, Sierra Leone. We have only erected a mud structure.

We are requesting funding to complete the primary schools in both Maketeh and Kigbal villages. We need to provide plastering for the mud building, uniforms, benches and tables, food, exercise books, black boards, pencils, chalk.
