In the first 2 years of volunteering and working in Spiral i offered 1:1 support to young people, this is how know the 1:1 support is important to young people. We now have a new member of staff, Alison who provides short term emotional well-being support, over 4 weeks. With this support Alison educates young people on how to manage their mental health. This would usually be done face-to-face, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we can no longer provide this face-to-face support and cannot seek funding for it either. Young people are now more isolated than before and we want to be able to continue supporting them, by raising these funds it will allow Spiral to deliver 1:1 support through our secure platform and provide emotional support to those most vulnerable.
Although young people are not in education, it does not mean bullying has stopped. Spiral is still receiving referrals and young people are still wanting support. By offering on-line support it will allow Spiral to support young people across Cumbria.
Although the support is provide over 4 weeks, young people can come back to Spiral at any point, for further support. This is our open door policy, for young people.
The support will:
Provide techniques in managing mental health; anxiety, low mood
Provide emotional support
