To reduce post natal depression caused by difficult births and having premature babies by creating bespoke meditation tracks

by Arti Kakkad in Loughton, England, United Kingdom

My name is Arti Kakkad, I am a therapist working with children and adults.

In 2019 I had an extremely premature baby who was on the cusp of survival. A three month stay in hospital showed me that there is very little support available for parents of premature babies. The experiences can haunt parents for years to come, causing post natal depression, PTSD and post natal anxiety which can be difficult to overcome.

My aim is to change that with easy to access help - first in the form of meditation tracks which help parents overcome difficult birth, encourage lactation, ease separation anxiety and prepare parents for the road ahead. Tracks will also be available for grandparents, siblings and other close family members who are often coping with no support at all.

I have experience writing and delivering meditation tracks for my private clients. The money raised here will be used to record these professionally and invest in a platform from which they can be downloaded.

A next step would be to create a platform where parents can come together and access professional or peer-to-peer support.
