PRAM NIGHT - SHORT FILM

Pram Night follows TJ and Kwabena, two teachers and childhood friends as they clean up the aftermath of the yearly prom their school hosts. Whilst cleaning up, they delve into their past which starts to untangle, seeping into their present and ultimately stopping them from moving forward into the future. They need to overcome their problems in order to push through the past and make their way to the future.

It's a drama film with our two characters at its heart. It's a story about them and we hope you'll join us on pram night to find out what happens.

Making films is hard! And expensive! That's where you come in! With your help, we can successfully (and safely) pull this off. We're determined and are prepping behind the scenes, and with your contributions we'll be able to cover the following:

- Film Festival Submissions

With your help, all of this will be possible! Our end goal is to create a heartwarming film and to get our film into as many film festivals around the world as possible. We're young upcoming filmmakers who are eager to showcase our talents and hopefully win some awards too, in order to show the world what we're capable of. We really do appreciate everything! 

Jojo Bossman - Writer/Director:

‘Pram Night’ is a story I feel needs to be told. My whole life I’ve been told I’m not masculine enough which has been detrimental to how I view myself.
I think young children and young Black children in particular need to be shown that it’s okay to be who you are. ‘Pram Night’ is a story about acceptance and I’m so excited to be able to tell it. I have a wonderful crew next to me who are just as eager and with your support, we can tell a powerful story that is sure to resonate with the hearts of many. Here’s to more Black stories, more hopeful stories and more stories in general! We are filled with passion and hope we can share that passion with all of you! I hope to see you on Pram Night!

Jessica Hine - Producer: 

As the producer for this short film, it’s my aim to give our director the best possible outcome for his vision, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere
between talent and crew, and maintaining a professional and hardworking environment. Thus far, we have an enthusiastic and extremely eager talent pool
of crew with a shared vision of creating an engaging and emotive short. For my own desired outcome, I aim to make sure this production is as smooth and
efficient as possible, keeping a tight budget to be fairly spent across all departments within production and a key focus on the end goal, that being
submissions and selections in worldwide and UK based film festivals.

Niamh Kavanagh - Director of Photography:

As Cinematographer for “Pram Night” I wish to create something as beautiful as our story’s narrative. Working together with the director’s vision, I aim
to create a soft, haze like atmosphere with the addition of coloured gels to frame our main cast’s features and set the film in the aftermath of a well-enjoyed
and loved prom. I can’t wait for you to see it!

Bridget Mahoney - Editor / 1st AC:

As the editor for Pram Night, my goal is to aid in the creation of a beautiful moment of connection between two hearts. I would like the edit to reflect the close
yet fragile relationship between our characters and build our story to an emotional climax, working with the stunning visuals to create something touching and
memorable. As the 1st AC, it’s my job to make sure all the shots are framed and focused correctly so that the Director and Director of Photography’s visions
can come to life through the lens.

James Gilbert - Sound Recordist / Designer: 

As Head of the Sound department my role is to record dialog and other live sounds that we record within the shoot days. I will also be responsible for editing
all of the audio and music within this short. I already have a plan of what sort of background noises to use that assist with the visuals our
DOP is hoping to create. I am really excited to work on this project with this crew, and I know it will be amazing!
