At present due to the Covid 19 Push On Wellbeing CIC has no reserves. Since closing down Lily’s Tea Parlour it’s sustained income has stopped. At Lily’s we were self funding all the great wellbeing work, not prepared for anything like Covid. The work needs to continue more then ever & the 10 volunteers from Lily’s are all ready to do more great work from home. This is why I need some help for our next stage of work in the lock down period. As more people are isolated now. So we want to launch A “PowPal” Community run project.
PowPal Community Run Network will be a life line for all those who are isolated. Especially those who have no families & who are in the vulnerable category & who are suffering with their mental wellbeing. PowPals will reach out to all their people in their Street & surrounding area by first a leaflet drop to let them know they are there. The project will work alongside with Local shops, big supermarkets, doctors & chemists to get the word out & PowPals will also be linked to other local & national government services
Elderly homes & villages
to make sure everyone who needs a PowPal will not be missed out. Plus PowPals will refer those who are needing more help. PowPal volunteers will have a list of registered charities that they can refer their PowPals to. At the same time be with them every step of the way.
This will be the first of its kind project for Chelmsley Wood & the vision is to roll it out across the Borough of Solihull & wider areas. Push On Wellbeing CIC already has 15 volunteers who live in Chelmsley Wood & in different Roads, Streets, Flats & Groves & more are being recruited now. Ready to be kitted out & to start their well needed community work. Keeping those vulnerable connected & out of danger, especially those with suicidal thoughts. PowPal project will run as long as people need them.
