So much gratitude to all who have contributed. We have hit the initial target, which now allows us to get an independent valuation on the Poolewe shop. Again, any amount further raised until the end of the Crowdfunder will be put back into a community cause of your choice. Many thanks from LECE (Loch Ewe Community Enterprise)

Poolewe and the areas communities are always able to make things happen, we're sure it will prove to be a success. Good luck Stuart & Emily

Wishing you the best of luck and the clearest of communication! In my experience, the biggest hurdle for these community attempts to share power and make a good, sustainable thing that doesn't exploit a small overworked minority, is having to practice a high standard of both listening and assertiveness, both collectively and individually :-). I'd gladly talk more about this by email or phone, if anyone involved wants to.

I'm not a local (yet), but a visitor to Poolewe for many times since 1992 and the shop is a great and important asset of the village!

Village shops a vital part of the local community. I have used this shop several times as a summer visitor. Locally our Post Office closed and local pub, last in village, went up for sale. The local community raised money, bought pub. Now it is a Post Office, cafe, meeting place and it supports local artists by exhibiting and selling their work. It can be done. Good luck. Should you wish to speak to anyone connected with the local community pub I'm sure they would be only too pleased to help.

I live in a village and have learned the lesson of using the local facilities before they close through lack of use. Sincerely hope that you can keep the shop open.
