So I am Rachel the master crafter and owner of "Ma Gifts Boutique". I currently provide a unique bespoke gift service offering beautifully handcrafted and personalised gifts for whatever the occasion. Currently I offer personalised pebble art in box frames mainly for "family" and "weddings", personalised prints which have mainly been for "teenage best friends" and "family", personalised names in box frames and personalised glitter/bow wine glasses that come in gift sets.
I have been really busy but I am looking to expand the offerings as I am currently limited to the offerings I can offer.
I am crowdfunding in the hope of achieving the funds required to purchase outright new equipment that will develop and grow the business which will give a greater output than what I currently can offer.
I am hoping to offer more in the way of personalised gift sets which will include transfers/vinyls onto glass rather than just glitter which I currently offer. Also which to do more with glass and woodwork as I am limited.
As well as my own personal goals, I also hope to run free craft workshops for children during the school holidays not only will it give children a chance to learn new skills in a fun and safe space but it will also help alleviate every parents nightmare in the school holidays "childcare" as a parent of two young children I understand the complexity and expense of childcare - in my own personal experience I was paying £400-£700 a month in term time for childminders or after school clubs, and £60 a day for the school holidays.
I could also team up with local mental health and addiction services to offer the same free workshops. Crafts and creation can help people see a different self and its a fun opportunity to learn new skills whilst socialising and making new friends
The equipment will go a long way in helping me achieve faster results and it would be good investment for the future of my business as the world is forever changing so it will allow me to keep with demand and trends and explore endless oppurtunities.
Children and Mental Health are close to my heart. I have two children myself but in the past I have suffered from depression and panic attacks. The two things I understand very well.
With every item I make I am making a 5% donation to SAMH which is a mental health charity that I can relate to. I will also raffle monthly an item where 60% will go to charities such as SAMH or CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) , or a charity that the winners should choose.
