We are part of the steering team behind Plastic Free Pembroke and Monkton, aiming to improve the environment where we live by helping our community to reduce the amount of avoidable single use plastic.
As part of our project we quite often organise litter picks and beach cleans, and as an established group we feel it is now time to purchase our own equipment to help aid us on our plastic free Journey.
So we have decided to arrange a sponsored plogging event, which is a litter pick whilst jogging, but we have decided to include cycling in this to cover more rural areas of our district. Throughout August our aim is to cover 500 miles accumulatively.,
Each day one of us will embark on gaining more miles for the cause and hopefully manage to clear a substantial amount of litter in the process. Our group is a mixed bunch of unfit, fairly fit and super fit ordinary folk and some of our children so will be quite the challenge for some of us, but if we can hit our fundraising targets and clear a substantial amount of litter from our streets and beaches it will definitely be worthwhile.
So how about it guys, dig deep and help us to do wonderful things for our community, any donation will be very much appreciated, as well as much support as you can muster!!
Thank you so much.
