Our "Pink Shelf" concept co-designed with us by teens and females to benefit teenage girls who are facing Period Poverty our "Pink Shelf" project was designed to take away the stigma of accessing free sanitary products or information. Our co-designers girl's between 10 and 25 years old were passionate about free products and information being in places where girls don’t feel embarrassed or uncomfortable getting them.
“Pink Shelf” is designed to look trendy, hold discrete handmade and natural wellbeing remedies, a selection of eco friendly alternatives, information and educational resources.
Offering a Take or Donate system girls feel more inclined to use our Pink Shelf knowing that they could return the favour and help another girl out in the future proves very popular building Period Positivity and breaking down barriers.
We are starting the conversation and inspiring the next generation of young female's to be Period Positive and promote Period Wellbeing!
A Make Your Mark "Pink Shelf" will be at our activity spaces and local community spaces across Barking and Dagenham. We are collaborating with TAP Redbridge to introduce "Girl Chat" Pop Ups and classes coming this April starting the conversation and taking action against period poverty.
Money from this funding campaign will go 100% towards providing disadvantaged teens with access to free sanitary products, information & awareness projects, and wellbeing resource's.
