New Partner for Pick Me Up (& hold me tight)
Dear supporters of Pick Me Up (& hold me tight),
Thank you so much for your patience.
We cannot even begin to express the frustration and despondency that we have felt over the last few months. After an amazing campaign and a wonderful response, a major Telecom company we had been working with decided to decline the project. This came as a real blow and we felt the rug pulled out from beneath our feet. In any case, we have since been working nonstop on how the project can still work without them - and now we are sure that it can, but just not in the same way.
We do have good news, however. A new festival partner in Leeds have picked up on how crazy beautiful this project is and would like to support the pilot it for Leeds at the end of 2019. Although always hard and delicate to find solid ground when it comes to suicide and statistics, there are worrying numbers that show Yorkshire has the highest suicide rates in the country*.
We will announce details of precise time and how to engage with the Leeds pilot, but we are confident our new partners are exactly the right hosts for this amazing work. They are genuinely compassionate and sensitive in their approach to this subject and we are so grateful for their recognition of its value.
Thank you again for all your support and please know we are pushing through and we have not given up.
Jorge and Jadé
