I was lucky enough to get to volunteer at Phoenix Counselling services, which was part of my criteria towards qualifying as a counsellor, which should happen this June (Covid 19 dependant!). I was told that once I started working at Phoenix, I would not want to leave and I realised that a lot of my fellow counsellors had been there for a long time and gradually, I too didn't want to leave.
The best bits are the people that work at and manage Phoenix, they all support each other and they all have one key focus, to help the clients that they are working with. The ethos to provide counselling to whoever required it, rich or poor, was something I found extremely admirable and when Fran, our fabulous leader, came up with the idea of crowd-funding to ensure our services would continue and to provide free counselling for the key workers affected by Covid 19, my admiration doubled and I was very proud to be able to be a part of it.
I hope you'll be able to absorb my enthusiasm and gratitude towards this great service and feel as if you'd like to support it too, but if you can't afford to support the cause, perhaps you can pass this message on to someone who can.
Many thanks and keep safe,
