After going through the loss of a pet back in April 2020 and not having anyone to talk to, I took courses to qualify as a Pet Bereavement Therapist. Not stopping there I took more courses in Grief and Bereavement and End Of Life Therapy. I also started making memory gifts.
A pet is never just a cat or just a dog they may of been your only companion, coming to terms with their loss can be even harder. And if you were unable to afford expensive veterinary treatment to prolong your pet’s life, you may even feel a profound sense of guilt.
No one can take the pain away a person feels through the death of a loved one. Whether it be a family member, or a friend.
No one has a magic wand to heal the pain, what a therapist can do is listen, help to ease the stress and try and get you to a better a place emotionally, physically and mentally.
My idea is to have a place where people can come and open up about their loss, where they will not be judged and feel comfortable. Somewhere they can buy a memory gift to treasure and act as a symbol of the loss of that loved one
