This project is to fund the completion of a book series that will help beginner stage guitarists in learning to read musical notation, as well as gain confidence with improvising and being creative. A lot like the 'chose your own adventure' books, learners will be able to make choices on where next to go and how to management their own development as they progress.
Funding will pay for audio recording in a studio with real musicians, so that students will have the best experience as they play along with the backing tracks. Money will also go towards more artwork commissions (book two is also nearly complete but doesn't have a cover) and also trial print runs and promotional copies that will help to refine the product as we move forwards.
I have been a musical educator and touring musician for many years, as well as a musical examiner for an international exam board. My experience tells me that people will enjoy these workbooks and I also feel passionate about bridging the gap that so many mid-level guitarists face in the working world (owing to a lack of good notation reading). They will also be learning through a very specific method that uses five note (pentatonic) scales and makes the information really stick, thanks to the Pathway Wheel (explained in the video).
Thank you for your interest so far. I'm very happy to answer any questions that may arise as you consider your contributions.
