Penniwells provides riding & horse care sessions to people of all ages and disabilities - Both Learning and physical disability are catered for with purpose built facilities including indoor and outdoor arenas, hydraulic lift for mounting and 14 horses and ponies. It is run by 5 trustees, 5 staff members and then an army of around 80 volunteers every week.  Volunteers are helping with leading and side helping the riders during lessons aswell as yard duties, maintenance of the site & fundraising.

All riders are encouraged to ride to the very best of their own ability with many being encouraged to take part in competition at regional & national level. This year 17 took at our regional qualifier event with 9 going onto take part at the Championsips in July.

This is where we need you help - We would like to help our riders get to take part at the Championships but none if it comes cheap - It costs over £3000 every year for Penniwells RDA to take part at Hartpury College in Gloucester.

Penniwells is hoping to raise £3000 to help the 9 riders & 6 ponies who have worked so hard to qualify for the RDA National Championships 2018 to go to Hartpury College in Gloucester and compete against all the other RDA Groups in the UK.

Many of our riders compete successfully at Regional & National Level every year but the costs keep rising.  This year it is costing the Centre over £3000 to take part and so we are asking for your help to make this dream for our riders to become a reality.

Here is an approx breakdown of costs involved for 6 ponies & 9 riders from the Centre:

Entry fees : £250

Stabling for 6 Ponies : £600

Transport of horses in two lorries : £250

Accommodation for the team : £900

Bedding, hay for 6 ponies : £150

Extra coaching sessions over the next 6 weeks for 9 riders : £1000

Volunteers transport, food etc over the weekend : £300 minimum

As you can see it all adds up very quickly so every penny donated will go towards making a difference.

We plan to help help out our riders as much as we can with your help.

Penniwells has to fundraise in excess of £100,000 pa in order to just keep running on a day to day basis - with your help you could help us to provide our riders with the opportunity of representing their group  competing at National Level.

Penniwells relies on volunteer support every day of the week helping out with leading and side helping the ponies aswell as grooming and general yard duties.  We cannot do it without each and every one of them.

Every little helps so please try to help if you can. Thank you.
