CommNITY Little Hulton needs your support with our crowdfunding to help make our community dream a reality. CommUNITY Little Hulton is a charity and lead by local residents who invest their time voluntary and work incredibly hard to help provide support to our community through activities such as a food club, socialising groups , the Youth Unity Youth Club and much more to make a difference

Community Little Hulton’s mission is to inspire today’s youth and to bring the community together to enhance everybody’s wellbeing.

We have already brought a new £250,000 bike track to Peel Park.1628777236_bike_track.jpg

But we are dreaming of bigger and better things

We now want to create a forever home by extending Peel Park Pavilion

In the autumn we plan to apply for a some Government funding called the Community Ownership fund to turn our dreams into reality.

The new building will have a cafe, a community space a classroom for training for local 16 -18 year olds and the evening it will be used for youth activities used as a youth centre linking in with new bike track, we are  hoping the next BMX Olympian will be from Little Hulton.

We also going to build part of the building ourselves providing an opportunity for local young people to gain experience in construction.

The Future

Community Little Hulton is the legacy organisation of Little Hulton Big Local.

They both work to community priorities which have been identified through ongoing community consultation

A key priority has always been a community hub

Both organisations currently operate from a small leased property on Little Hulton precinct.

During the Covid pandemic the role of this community hub has been essential.

During the pandemic other services shrunk away from our community we did not we dug deeper to make sure we where there at a time of need.

Because we were here, we were able to step up and open a weekly food club in the spring of 2021 during lockdown three we had had up to100 individuals using the food club each week

The Future

We want to secure a permanent Community Hub in Little Hulton, supported by and supporting community lead Charity.

To do this we are going to take on a 25 lease for Peel Park Pavilion to create a permanent community hub.

In June 2020 we took on the key holding responsibilities for the

In that time, when restrictions have allowed have supported to safely operate from the pavilion:

  • Two summer bike maintenance projects for NEET young people
  • Small children’s group activities delivered following National Youth Association Guidance
  • An outdoor coffee and walk talk session to support older people get back out into the community
  • A weekly art group
  • A weekly buggy walk
  • An autism support group
  • Summer Play Streets sessions

The pavilion is busy with young people and older people numbers using the pavilion show that the building is widely used and important to the community. But the facility is run down, no heating, no Wi-Fi, toilets keep breaking and for our children’s sessions when it rains we have to cancel sessions because we can’t safely fit all the children into the pavilion.

We now want to make the Pavilion our forever home.

We are seeking funding to extend the pavilion to create a venue with room for a café, weekly community market suppling afford food, community space and a base for provision for young people 16+ not in education, employment or training.

We have Head of Terms in place for a 25 Year lease and now have planning permission for our plans to expand the Pavilion.

Our Vision for Peel Park and Peel Park Pavilion

By investing in Peel Park, we believe we will:

  • Create an opportunity to bring everything together into one facility so both the  services which are currently run at Community Hub 27- 29 Little Hulton District Centre and the provision we delivery currently at the pavilion will be under on roof.
  •  Ensure that the park viewed as a safe place. A key message from our community research project was that local people want the park to feel like a safe place and that there needs to be more facilities and better access to facilities within the park.
  • By working with partners, we will also support the re-development of the park by creating an outdoor space that meets the aspirations of our community including our young people.
  • Inspire our young people by creating a facility which they have helped to design and build and is shaped by listening to their voices.
  • Create a physical space that provides children and young with a safe welcoming place to go, a community sitting room of their own.
  • Offer further support to young people by creating a building that offers a purpose-built facility for the delivery of services for young people not in education, employment, or training.
  • Encourage greater use of the park by all ages, encouraging everyone to be more active.
  • Create a community facility in Little Hulton fit for a 21st century community.
  • Create a legacy building which unites the community by creating a landmark for Little Hulton. A local asset for local people to be proud of.
  • Create an asset that supports and sustains CommUNITY Little Hulton as an anchor based, community led and accountable organization.
