Hi awesome people at Crowdfunder!
I hope you’re all having a good day and thank you for visiting my page
Some background on why I am here?
Cast your mind back to the early part the century, you’re sat in your office waiting for an email to come through. Just before you cannot take the pain of waiting anymore, an email hits your inbox containing a dancing banana.
I realise that this will mean absolutely nothing to most people reading this but for the few of you who understand, I hope that image puts a smile on your face!
That dancing banana is a metaphor to how I feel when I think about this new adventure in my life.
For my entire life, food has been my passion. My father was a classically trained French chef and growing up, I spent many hours tasting pots of things boiling away on the stove.
My first job was working in a pub kitchen and it seemed natural that I would pursue a career in cooking. However, as with most things, life took over and currently I work for a major corporation and sit at a desk all day, waiting for emails to arrive!
I long for the time where I can spend my days experimenting in a kitchen, cooking up food that people enjoy (currently this is my wife and two teenage sons) and earning a living while having fun.
And that is why I am here – Peanut Butter Jello Time – a company to put a smile on your face.
Let me get out of my daydream for a minute
I’m sure you have all seen the videos on social media, where a company such as Tasty play a 60 second video about making a burger, a juicy lucy or a stuffed chicken breast.
As I was sat there one day watching one of these clips, I said to my sons “I could make a better burger than that”. They didn’t believe me. As I said, they are teenage boys and it takes a lot to convince them unless you’re Paul Pogba or Stormzy.
However, being the stubborn man that I am, determined to prove them wrong, I began writing recipes and ideas of food that I could make. The freedom of creating recipes – as crazy as you like - is so inspiring! Everyone should try turning off their phones, sitting down with a glass of red and just allowing their imagine to run wild about whatever their passion is!
I have spent time to plan every detail, from how to film, angles, how the food should look, how the video should be edited, where to sell them, what sponsors I need to contact, the number of people who would view my clips, why having a silly name that makes people happy is also important, what ideas do not work, what age group would enjoy the clips, what months would be better to launch certain videos….. you can see why I need to write things down.
Where you come in
I will use any funding received to create a small ‘studio’ in my home (consisting of a workbench, basic lighting, camera and editing software). This will allow me to create more professional looking videos that I will be proud to put my name to. Every penny donated will do into growing Peanut Butter Jello Time and allowing me to have a little fun in the kitchen too. I hope that reading this and the thought of the little dancing banana has also put a smile on your face. Even if you don’t donate. Honestly. I truly mean it. But please donate!
I am in the very early days of setting up, but am entirely focussed on taking a small idea and growing it into something that can put a smile on hundreds, thousands or even millions of people’s faces – just like the dancing banana did!
